Paul Lapre

"I feel so happy to be here (2018 USA Games) and compete with a group of guys that I love!"

BIO

Known by his softball teammates as "Daddy Paul," Paul Lapre started competing in Special Olympics in 1968. He is the pitcher from the Lakewood Dirtbags softball team that traveled to Seattle to compete at the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games. Since joining Special Olympics, Paul has increased his confidence as an athlete, and was even chosen to throw out the first pitch at Dodger Stadium last year. It has been a longtime dream of his to be selected for the USA Games, and it meant more to Paul than anything to have had this chance. When he's not on the mound, Paul loves coloring, cars, and lifting weights.
