Todd Weathers was born prematurely on June 28,1991 in Calcutta India. Born on the autism spectrum with developmental delays and high muscle tone, Todd was adopted when he was five months old. He was raised in Kaneohe, Hawaii, along with his adopted sister, Megan. Todd joined Special Olympics in 2004 with encouragement from a middle school teacher where he played flag football, basketball, soccer, and softball. Todd has since moved to Port Orchard Washington and continues to stay active with Special Olympics. Todd’s favorite sports are soccer and flag football and attributes his ability to excel in these sports to his participation in Unified sports.
Todd likes that Special Olympics doesn’t cost anything for athletes that do participate. For Todd, Special Olympics helps him stay active, fit, and healthy. He was thrilled to be selected to compete in Soccer at the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games. To prepare for this wonderful opportunity he is staying in good physical shape by playing soccer and flag football. Todd is looking forward to the competition, having a good time and just enjoying this opportunity as he knows it may not come along again.
